The Alice Bag Sewing Pattern by Melissa Mortenson (founder of The Polka Dot Chair) is a whimsical, vintage-inspired circle purse pattern that can be customized into a crossbody bag, small purse, or cosmetic pouch.
Customization: The pattern features options to add rabbit ears, a hand-embroidered bunny face, or a clock face to the front. A bonus supplement template is often included to create a "Mickey Mouse" inspired look.
Exterior & Lining: The pattern supports both quilted and non-quilted exterior fabrics. The final bag is fully lined, contains no internal pockets, and finishes raw edges with bias tape.
Handle & Strap Styles: It includes instructions for 5 different handle options: short handles, a chain strap, a wristlet strap, a 0.5-inch crossbody strap attached to the back, or a 1-inch crossbody strap attached to the sides. Two strap lengths are provided to accommodate both adults and children.
